History of the Drumline - January 21, 2008

Brandon Davis and Dr. V started the very first middle school drumline in Guilford County in 2003. Brandon, who had all the ideas and taught the drumline for three years, was 14. Dr. V and her parents funded the more than $10,000 that it cost to purchase the equipment and maintain it.
When Dr. V moved to Northern Dr. Misher loved the idea of starting a drumline here. So did the students. We had a sixth grade drumline last year and this year we have an advanced drumline. Brandon comes to Northern to teach the drumline on Saturdays and will be instructing the marching band beginning Feb. 8.
